Parametric shapes

Brief

Use parametric equations to create different shapes

Experiment with equations to find different variations

Create a series of images each different from each other using creative coding

In an effort to learn creative coding I set myself the task of using trigonometry and parametric equations to create different shapes.

Using the processing language and IDE I created different programs to create different types of shapes.

This was a breakthrough project for me and involved a lot of happy accidents, since then I have been spurred on to learn more about creative coding, but this project really stood out as a starting point for creating generative art collections on my own through my own experimentation.

I have gone beyond basic parametric equations and started to combine different formulas in experimental ways which has led to some really intricate and unusual shapes. I found this process really exciting, especially when I felt like I had discovered something new.
